Law as a lever to fight discrimination
Discrimination is a striking reality in France. Law is an essential lever to act considering the context of inertia of French society on this issue.
However, support for strategic litigation related to discrimination did not exist in France. This is why we created the RAJD (The Network to act in justice against discrimination).
RAJD is a network of professional experts in questions of discrimination, who work together and in close collaboration with discriminated groups to work on targeted strategic legal issues to be adjudicated and who identify cases to support the fight against discrimination in France.
The Network facilitates access to justice of victims with a very light structure that favors collaboration and outreach, organizes research, teamwork and support in order to advance case law and facilitate access to justice of victims.
Since 2021, the ongoing working groups of the Network organized a seminar at University Paris-ASSAS with Trans Europe Expert and the support of the Conseil national des Barreaux (National French Bar Association) in April 2023 to present their work on the following issues:
The Conference proceedings Les enjeux du contentieux de la lutte contre les discriminations are published in November 2024 with the support of Trans Europe Experts by the Société de Législation Comparée and is available to order on its website: https://legiscompare.fr/ecommerce/fr/
